A year and a half married

October 14, 2012
18 months of married life and a 7 month old little angel

Time is flying fast.

Here's an update on how the Mou Tham's are now.
Keahi loves to spend some time outside at the play ground watching kids run around.

He is going all over the house now and making sure everything gets messy.

Anyway, here is our a year and a half celebration. . .
We visited gateway restaurant to see how daddy's doing at work haha

. . . went to waikiki. Keahi loved it. He likes seeing lots of people.

Garry bought both of us (Keahi and I) new pair of footwear each. Which he does all the time.

The boys had lots of playing and it is just the best pleasant sight to see.

Keahi always gets so excited when Daddy carries him around, he gets to do more "fun" stuffs with him than with mommy I guess.

They both hate it every time I ask them to stop the walk and pose for a picture. You can tell they are just forced for a shot.

Garry bought me some Filipino snacks. He tried some too, and he loved Bulalo (except he doesn't like the fact that it is some sort of a soup with bone marrow)

And then, we had refreshing times at the temple grounds.

kisses!!!! :)

Ua Mihi Au Ia Oe

If there is one thing I really miss in Tahiti,
it's the food!
I really do wish Garry's mom is here so she can make these foods.
I did try a lot to cook some of them, but I just can't get it right :-/
Oh well, here are some of the foods that I've tried in Tahiti.
Tant pis, c'est juste pour my eyes! :)

(Bare with me in my French spelling)

Casse croute. It's the Tahitian subway. haha.
They put meat, cheese, eggs and FRIES too in it
Nem. They are like lumpia or spring roll, but they have vermicelli in it. I also love the sauce. Vinegar, lemon, sugar, salt, shredded carrots. yum!
Oh and I will never forget the Baguettes.
I see them everyday, 3 times a day
 in most tahitian dining table.
Poulet Tamarin.
This is the first food that Garry's mom cooked for us.
Ohhh. That was love at first taste!

Poisson Cru. Trip to tahiti is never
complete without trying their raw fish.
Fresh.
Sashimi. This is at Captain Bligh Restaurant.
It goes with a great dipping sauce.

Steak Frite. You'll miss a lot if you
won't eat this at the roulotte
Another Poisson Cru (Left) and Boeuf Braisé at the
Delices de Dragon Restaurant.

Chow Mein. You all know what that is, right? :)

DESSERT
Pastries in Tahiti are the best! It's not sugary, flavors are not too strong, and they go by big portions.
Trois chocolat (triple chocolate)
Foret noire (black forest)
The two cakes above are from Volvo, a popular pastry shop in Faaa. I don't know why they called it Volvo, it sounds more like a car shop for me. haha.

Gateau Mimosa

This is baked by Garry's Tatie Nina. It's like an egg based cake. I've seen Italian Mimosa Cake and they never looked like this, but the Tahitian Mimosa Cake is super duper yummy and creamy!

Mille Feuille.
Yummy for the tummy and for the eyes.
Chocolat Genois. Kinda like a chocolate
mousse  but it's super light.
You can buy it in most supermarkets in Tahiti.

All the above cakes are from Carrefour. They look so delicious, but Garry always tells me not to buy them. He said they are not as good as they appear to be, but I think he just doesn't want to buy them because they are expensive :) haha. Tinito.

Macaroons :)
Gauffre (Waffle). I bought this from the manége.
And of course. CREPES. This is from La Boule Rouge roulotte in Place Vaiete.

And I also have some drinks for you :)

Rotui. One of the leading export products
of Tahiti. They are about $2 in
Tahiti and almost $7 in
Foodland Laie, haha.
Fanta Raisin. I don't know why they don't
have it here in Hawaii, do they? I reaaalllly loved this.

And of course, Coconut juice! Garry's grandpere  has plenty of them in his yard, they are soooo sweet.

I just though of something cool I wanted to share with you.
This is the only McDonalds that I have seen that has yummy pastries. This is McDonalds Arue.

They have this McBaguette in their McDonalds too haha.

OH how I miss all of these food! I'm sure Garry will scold me for not putting proper articles(Le, La,Les) on my French words. Ahh whatever. They are yummy, that's it :)

The Family's 3rd Gen. Conference

It's our third general conference since we got married.

Here is what kept mommy and daddy busy while watching, some cream puffs.

Here's for the baby.

And there you go, a literal 'bookworm' destroying my books, and making me organize my bookshelf twice a day.

Back to the conference.

This was one of the most important conference for me and my husband since we got married. We've been thinking an praying a lot about where to go and what to do exactly after graduation. It's not like we have so many options, haha, but we just really wanted to make sure we are making the right choice. And so we prayed and we fasted and, yah, you guessed it right, we found answers to our questions. Pres. Uchtdorf talked about striving more to be the person that God wants you to be. Robert D. Hales said the same thing when he quoted the hymn , "I'll go where you want me to go. I'll say what you want me to say. . . I'll be what you want me to be."

It was a wonderful feeling. :)

first time blogging

Photo of my Journal, my laptop (probably my second journal), and mango ice cream! :)

Here you go. My first entry on my first blog. It took me a lot of time contemplating whether I should blog or not. "A lot of time" actually means since high school! haha. but yah, here we go, I got a blogspot and a blog entry. Every time I look over my journal, it's a challenge to decipher my handwriting, it's a mess! :) I tried the online LDS journal, and I ended up forgetting and resetting my password hundred times. So I thought maybe blogging while keeping a journal would be ideal.

Anyway, it's General Conference weekend, and I still do prefer writing notes from talks with my pen and notebook but hey, I still managed to post a blog. Cool for me! :-)
