Journal keeping

This is the last Sunday of the year 2012. This morning I was looking at my journal online, and I just felt so happy that I finally was able to keep a "regular" journal. My very first entry on my journal was way back August 2011 and the second entry didn't happen until a year later, November 2012. Since, I started entered college I have always been struggling to keep a journal. I tried and started a lot of times but it was just so hard to keep up at the beginning. Until I saw one of Garry's gift to me when we were just dating, a journal.

Garry wrote this letter at the very first page of the book.

I wrote this letter at the very last page of the book upon receiving it.

Since, we both had hard times keeping a journal of us in this book, this journal now contains Keahi's records of his FIRSTS.

Aside from Keahi's journal that I keep, I also have my own personal journal online at ldsjournal.com . This is a journal that I really keep regularly. Times had come where I never had an entry for a day, and what I will do is to record 2 entries for the next day. It was fun, to be able to keep a record of your life.

Here's a book preview of my journal online at ldsjournal.com . I can't wait for the hard copy to be printed :)

I also have video journals that I do not do regularly but only when I need to record things that I'd rather do in speaking instead of writing. I send them all on my email, and store them on one folder. I also have my blog that I make sure is synchronized on my facebook because that is the only way my mom could see it :)

This is what is going to be written at the back of my journal once it is ready to be printed:

"Your story should be written now while it is fresh and while the true details are available.

A journal is the literature of superiority. Each individual can become superior in his own humble life.

What could you do better for your children and your children’s children than to record the story of your life, your triumphs over adversity, your recovery after a fall, your progress when all seemed black, your rejoicing when you had finally achieved?

Some of what you write may be humdrum dates and places, but there will also be rich passages that will be quoted by your posterity.

Get a notebook, a journal that will last through all time, and maybe the angels may quote from it for eternity. Begin today and write in it your goings and comings, your deepest thoughts, your achievements and your failures, your associations and your triumphs, your impressions and your testimonies. Remember, the Savior chastised those who failed to record important events."

The Waters

This week, Keahi was able to experience his first encounters with the waters (the ocean and a pool). Yes, I have never taken Keahi to a pool or to the beach before. He'd been to beaches in Tahiti but he never really played. Today was his first time to actually play with the sand and the shore waves.

He enjoyed walking on the sand close to the small waves and once it hits him, he'll stop and just feel the water. He was so scared of the waves at the beginning, but Garry helped him get comfortable little by little until he started playing with the water.

He enjoyed discovering the texture of the sand in his hands.

Last Tuesday was also Keahi's first time to be in a pool. There he didn't have any fear at all. He just went to the water right away, and he didn't even want to get out of the pool anymore.

The boss. He was so grumpy at the beginning because he wanted to be in the water so badly already but I wanted to wait for other kids to get out of the kid's pool because I know he'd be too excited with the kids that I might not be able to handle him alone. (This was 10 in the morning and Garry was still sleeping).

Disappointed to be just sitting and watching other kids play in the water.

Muni-muni :)

Finally.

Congratulations! :)

At last! I am finally not too busy with finals to post on my blog, and at last! Garry is finally done with school. This is probably one of the greatest achievement for both of us since we got married. I am very happy that despite all the challenges, Garry was strong enough to make it through this day. Here are some photos of Garry's graduation.

After the Graduation banquet of the College of Business, Computing and Government.

Of course, picture of Garry with his greatest inspiration :)

Garry with Pres. Steven Wheelwright, president of Brigham Young University, Hawaii.

Probably the best highlight of his Graduation day is his encounter with Elder David Bednar. Garry was one of the few privileged graduating students who was invited for a breakfast with Elder Bednar before the commencement program.

We skyped Raiatea after the ceremony, and of course, here is the all time "bida", trying his dad's graduation cap.

Garry's favorite among all the leis that he received, money lei :)

We ate dinner at Prime Dining. Keahi flashing some smile for his dad's celebration.

We also rode the Christmas Lagoon at PCC . It is supposed to be for Keahi so he can see the lights, but he was just drinking his milk the whole ride. Ahhh, this kid.

I am really the happiest wife with my husband's graduation. :)

Field Trip

November 29, 2012 was a very long day for me. I attended two field trips on that same day. I went to Matson with the SCOPE club in the morning and then to Disney Aulani with the Hookipa Club in the evening.
One of Matson's ro-ro ships
The refrigerated containers

The SCOPE gang with Professor Castle on the roof top of Matson Headquarters in Honolulu :)

The Kookipa gang with Mickey and Minnie at Disney Aulani in Ko'olina :)

The Presidential Suite's living room

Their front office with the rainbow painting behind.

The hidden Mickey on their wallpaper.

This is in their Spa. They will give you a rock upon entry of the spa and as  then you'll drop the rock right here later on. So cool.

The vice presidential suite's whirlpool.
This is the bed in the vice presidential suite. I really really love it!

I wish I had Keahi with me at Disney Aulani. There were lots of activities for kids. All in all, it was so much fun even if it was so exhausting. We took the Hauula side route on our way to Matson and then went the other way to go to Disney in Koolina. I was so tired but all the exhaustion went away when I got home because Keahi was still up and I got to spend a little more time with him before he went to bed.
